Emmanuel Baptist Church welcomes Rev. Arturo Lewis as new Associate Minister for Youth and Young Adult Programs. Rev. Lewis will begin his tenure on January 1, 2018. He will be filling the pulpit on a monthly basis, represent the church in ecumenical activities, and develop a youth and young adult program at Emmanuel. Rev. Lewis joins Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Gill; Pastoral Associate, Rev. Judith Wheeler and Artistic and Music Director, John Giresi, along with support staff and a welcoming congregation.
Rev. Lewis, an ordained American Baptist Minister and long-time Ridgewood resident, is an inspirational speaker and life coach for schools and faith-based agencies through his non-profit organization, Art Lewis Ministries and Celebration Education. Rev. Lewis is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Diversity Studies at Passaic County Community College and William Paterson University. Rev. Lewis is married to Debra Lewis, M.A., a high school counselor and the proud father of Demetrius Lewis, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Goizueta Business School at Emory University. To view Rev. Emmanuel, founded in 1891, is celebrating its 126th Anniversary Year and maintains a tradition of community outreach.
