Marilyn Clark, Moderator, announced the Council of Emmanuel Church’s choice for Volunteer of the year 2022. Peter Demytrk of Oradell, Chairman of the Outreach Ministry, received this honor. His many accomplishments throughout 2022 were noted: Chaired a Summer barbecue and sponsored monthly Saturday Night Movies for young people open to the church and the wider community, was a force behind the recreational activities for summer Vacation Bible School, spearheaded monthly brunches and actively supported deliveries to local food pantries.
Pete said, “We are family, and we are looking to grow our family even larger; everyone is welcome here.” Peter’s family theme and generous spirit were present in the Peace Lounge on December 18, as congregants enjoyed the December brunch, and more than 20 children received gifts from Santa, all of which were sponsored by the Outreach Ministry.
