Emmanuel supports Covenant House through our Mission budget, but the majority of our support is through our Christmas drive. Men’s Fellowship and members and friends of the Congregation contribute gift cards and other items. A quote from Covenant House (Megan Jensen, our current contact person) follows:

“Since 1989, Covenant House New Jersey has been providing food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless, runaway and trafficked youth between the ages of 18-21. The holidays can be an especially sad time for our young people. Seeing the celebrations, festivities, and the love of family outside of Covenant House’s doors reminds many of our kids of the family they don’t have, or of the love and support from family that no longer exists. It is our mission —our calling—to change that. With your help, our Covenant House community will overflow with the hope, the promise, and the joy that is Christmas.”

Emmanuel Supports the Covenant House Christmas drive because one of our Mission speakers years ago was from Covenant House. Emmanuel members and friends were inspired by the work that Covenant House does. They have several sites in NJ and have an excellent reputation for serving a need to the 18-21 year old population, in transition between “youth and adult” with limited support resources.

How can someone new get involved with the Christmas Drive at Emmanuel: we will have a donation box near the Mission bulletin board once we finish the Thanksgiving drive, all items on the “wish list” are greatly appreciated.
