Church World Service, Bread for the World, International Ministries and Home Mission Society of the American Baptist Churches, USA
Emmanuel Church actively supports various mission projects through ecumenical, interdenominational, and denominational organizations such as Church World Service (CWS), Bread for the World, International Ministries, and the Home Mission Societies of the American Baptist Churches USA.
Additionally, we organize the following events:
1. Blanket Sunday: Held every Mother’s Day, this event collects funds to purchase blankets for use in disaster areas.
2. Bread for the World Letter Writing Campaign: Conducted in the spring or fall, this campaign advocates for nutrition programs and food assistance both domestically and internationally. Bread for the World lobbies Congress to support nutrition and hunger relief programs, including SNAP.
3. Disaster Relief and Special Projects: In response to local (e.g., recent Passaic River flooding) and national/international needs, we organize special offerings. These funds are distributed directly through Church World Services, American Baptist Churches, or local agencies with hands-on help available in the affected area.
